Major Voices Choir is a South African vocal group that combines a cappella singing with dance, bringing plenty of energy and personality to every performance.
The choir performs a mix of Isicathamiya, African a cappella, Afro-pop and gospel, although they are always open to bringing different sounds into their shows. There is more to the choir than putting on a good show. Music is also a way for them to bring people together, support their community and steer young people away from crime.
Over the years, Major Voices Choir has performed at SA’s Got Talent, the International Arts Talent Showcase, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, We Are Africa, Artscape Theatre, Ekse Live and Hectic Nine-9.
They have also worked with the award-winning non-profit organisation Uthando South Africa for many years. Alongside their public performances, the choir regularly performs at weddings, graduations, birthday parties, corporate events and private functions. They have sung for guests travelling with New Frontier Tours and Fair Trade Safaris, and have also performed at the V&A Waterfront. Wherever they perform, the mix of singing, dance and crowd interaction gives the show its own energy.
