The iThemba Youth Choir is a vibrant South African musical ensemble based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. Founded in 2021 as a non-profit organization, the group has grown from seven members to over 50, primarily comprising high school students and unemployed youth. 

Musical Style and Performances

The choir is known for high-energy performances that blend traditional South African music with creative choreography. 

• Repertoire: They perform a variety of traditional and cultural songs, often accompanied by djembe drums, tambourines, and egg shakers.
• Key Appearances:
  • RMB Starlight Classics: They gained significant recognition performing at the 2025 RMB Starlight Classics in Cape Town, collaborating with artists like Nomcebo Zikode and Vuvu Mpofu.
  • Events: The group performs at weddings, festivals, and corporate events, and recently appeared at the 2025 Carols by Candlelight at Cape Point Vineyards
