Groove Masters is a live band with both Cape Town and Johannesburg line-ups, known for taking familiar songs and giving them a more stylish, energetic edge. Their sound moves between jazz, Motown, pop, soul and party music, with arrangements that can feel polished and sophisticated one moment and completely dancefloor-focused the next.
The group can perform in different formats, ranging from smaller line-ups through to a full 10-piece party band, which gives them plenty of flexibility depending on the size and style of your event.
One of Groove Masters’ strengths is the way they rework contemporary songs into jazz and Motown-inspired arrangements. Their repertoire can move from classic standards associated with artists such as Frank Sinatra and Nina Simone through to modern pop and dance tracks.
That gives the band a broader range than a straightforward cover act. They can create a more refined atmosphere earlier in an event before shifting into higher-energy material when the crowd is ready for it.
With bands based in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, Groove Masters is well suited to corporate events, weddings, gala evenings, private functions and large celebrations across South Africa.
What makes Groove Masters work so well is that they can read the room. They can keep things smooth and easy early on, then turn the energy up when people are ready to dance.
