Josh Meck is a South African bassist known for a more modern, groove-driven take on jazz. His playing leans into fusion, with strong rhythm and a bit more edge than a traditional jazz setup, which gives his sets a different kind of energy.

He’s worked across live bands and original projects, often sitting at the centre of the sound rather than just backing it. You feel the bass lines, they carry the movement of the set.

He fits well in contemporary event spaces, private functions, and lineups that want something a bit more current without losing the jazz foundation.
