Reinhardt Buhr is a live-looping multi-instrumentalist from Cape Town, a one-person orchestra built from electric cello, guitar, electronic drums and a growing collection of instruments from around the world.
Everything you hear is created in the moment. Reinhardt records each layer live in front of the audience, building a track from a single cello line into a full, cinematic arrangement, then improvising over the top. Nothing is pre-recorded and nothing runs on a backing track. The result moves easily from intimate and atmospheric to full and euphoric, and every set is shaped to the room, whether that is a poolside sunset, a corporate gala or a festival stage.
With over twenty albums to his name and a worldwide online following, Reinhardt has performed across South Africa and internationally, touring around thirty cities across Europe in 2025, with plenty more to come. He travels with his own self-contained rig, bringing the full production with him and needing very little from the venue.
For a booker, that combination is rare: a single artist who delivers the depth and dynamics of a whole band, adapts his set to any space and any moment of the day, and arrives ready to play.
