It only took Robby Collins four years to go from being an actor on the Durban theatrical scene to a fully-fledged stand-up comic; he is still regarded as one of the comedy world’s up-and-coming talents. Robby’s professional accomplishments outweigh his years spent performing stand-up.

A comic who bases his material on true events seems natural on stage and has a very convincing stage presence. His cutesy giraffe body makes him endearing to the audience.

Robby Collins has performed for the largest comedy crowds in South Africa at comedy performances called “Blacks Only” and “The Heavy Weight Comedy Jam.” The fact that Trevor Noah, Eugene Khoza, and Marc Lottering, three of South Africa’s best comics, personally chose him to open for them is another evidence of his talent. His long tour with Trevor Noah included more than fifty performances throughout Southern Africa. His onstage efforts won him a well-earned nomination for the inaugural Comics Choice Awards’ “breakthrough act of the year.”

Robby has demonstrated that his abilities are not limited to the stage, as he has appeared in several small-screen projects as an actor, writer, and performer, including Laugh Out Loud and LNN.

Without a question, Robby has a bright future ahead of him, one in which he will spend many years as the top comedian in South Africa!
